Time For Your Teen

Time for Your Teen is workshop designed to equip parents, caregivers, and youth development professionals with the knowledge and tools to foster open, honest, and meaningful conversations about sex and sexuality with the youth in their care. Participants will explore topics such as family values, communication strategies, adolescent development, sexual health resources, and how to initiate sex-positive discussions.

Participants will develop their skills in and understanding of:

• opening lines of communication with their child
• utilizing teachable moments
• new ways of communicating
• listening when discussing sensitive topics
• getting past roadblocks in talking about sex; and
• helping youth make decisions about abstinence, contraception, and overall healthy relationships (romantic, peer, and trusted adults)
